An-Nakel is a sophisticated start-of-the-art multilingual translation system that can go from Arabic to English and from English to Arabic.
It combines deep syntactic and lexical analysis with context-driven semantic processing to give a thorough translation of documents, paragraphs and sentences, or user-driven input.
It offers: Menus in selectable English or Arabic Management of multiple meanings.
Works in batch mode (stand alone translation program) or interactive mode (tool to help translator)
The stand-alone translation program works on MS Windows 95, 98 or NT Can translate up to 60,000 words per hour (depending on processor speed) It can translate on the level of a complete file, a paragraph, or a sentence.
Handles transliteration of proper nouns.
Handles the translation of abbreviations such as UN, UNESCO, ALESCO...
Dictionary management - one can add, modify and delete bilingual entries 150,000+ entries are included in the general dictionary.
An-Nakel has a strong parser, deep syntactic analysis and selective semantic analysis to detect main verbs, phrasal verbs and idioms. It is able to analyze and process phrasal verbs (multiword verbs) that are associated with a separable or inseparable particle: "The aircraft took off from Dubai airport", or "The man took his hat off". Idioms that cannot be properly understood if not recognized as a complex lexical unit are also supported, for example: take place of; take care of; take lessons; take charge, etc.
The Translation Memory database contains sentences already translated.
The General words dictionary contains words in common use with approximately 100,000 words and locutions.
The General verbs dictionary contains verbs in common use with approximately 15,000 verbs.
The Idioms dictionary contains idioms, locutions.
The Specific dictionary contains words used by specialists in a selected subject area.
The User dictionary contains words added or inserted by the user. "An-Nakel Al-Arabi" dictionary covers the following subject areas:
